Economic Missions — Poland ↔ DR Congo

An official reception was held at the Residence of the Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo during the visit of H.E. Madame Eugénie Tshiela Kamba, Vice-Minister of the Interior, Security and Decentralization. The event brought together ambassadors and diplomatic representatives from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal and other African embassies accredited to the Republic of Poland. Discussions focused on regional cooperation, trade, investment and institutional partnerships between Poland and African countries.

We represented Polish industrial companies at DRC Mining Week in Lubumbashi, presenting solutions with our partners VACAT and HYDROMEL and holding B2B discussions with mining operators, suppliers and procurement stakeholders. The programme continued beyond the fair with visits to copper-mining sites near Lubumbashi and a meeting with the Haut-Katanga provincial authorities. Together, the fair, field visits and institutional discussions created a practical basis for supply partnerships, technical cooperation and structured commercial follow-up in the copper-cobalt belt.

A working visit to Hydromel focused on reviewing the company’s products, technical capabilities and potential applications for African industrial and mining markets. The programme included product presentations, technical discussions and an assessment of how Hydromel’s solutions could respond to operational needs identified through ASI’s market and mission work.

Representatives of Africa Smart Investments and participating Polish companies held strategic meetings in Matete, Kinshasa with CAFECCO and local business networks spanning agricultural and food distribution, women-led commercial networks, and logistics. Additional meetings with construction, architecture and building companies covered infrastructure, façade systems and future distribution partnerships in the DRC market.

As part of the same mission, representatives of Africa Smart Investments and participating Polish companies attended an official dinner hosted by Nicolas Kazadi, former Minister of Finance of the DRC. The evening focused on export-credit financing opportunities, strategic industrial investments, and long-term partnerships supporting trade and technology transfer between Poland and the DRC.

As part of the Economic Mission to the DRC, Polish investors held strategic meetings on the future of local mining-equipment manufacturing in the country, facilitated by Marie-Claire Kengo wa Dondo. Representatives of Africa Smart Investments and participating Polish companies met with H.E. Louis Watum Kabamba, Minister of Mines, to discuss local production, industrial partnerships and technology transfer. Participating companies also received an official invitation to DRC Mining Week 2026 in Lubumbashi.

We led a consortium of Polish industrial companies — VACAT Sp. z o.o., Hydromel Sp. z o.o. and FF24 — to Kinshasa on a mission to establish a commercial and operational base in the DRC, held April 26 – May 1 under the high patronage of Honorable Marie-Claire Kengo wa Dondo, Députée Nationale and President of the DRC–Poland Parliamentary Friendship Group. Africa Smart Investments provided full mission organisation — 5-star hotel accommodation, catering, local transport, security, visa processing and translation — across a programme of B2B and B2G meetings, field visits and business networking. The mission concluded with a shared commitment to advance toward implantation in the DRC.

On April 20, 2026, Jules Mukumbi, Mayor of Matété, travelled to Poland to visit T-Master S.A. and T4B Group's facilities and finalise the framework for cooperation on a comprehensive waste-management system for his municipality in Kinshasa. Meeting with T-Master's leadership, the Mayor reviewed the business plan for the project covering the municipality's 400,000+ residents, including a modern sorting and processing centre and organised collection across all 13 districts — the first step toward an investment exceeding $150 million, with potential to become a model system for the whole of Kinshasa.

A working visit to Virtu Production focused on the company’s food-production capabilities, quality systems, product portfolio and potential cooperation connected with African markets. The programme included production-site discussions, product review and an assessment of possible market-entry and distribution routes.

As part of the same delegation's programme, we brought the DRC delegation to Zawiercie to visit Polish manufacturers Betoniarnia Kaczmarek, ALURON and POWERMAT, assessing export and investment potential — represented on our side by Yuga Buassa, Krzysztof Peroń, Mateusz and Grzegorz Błoch. In the same period, Polish agri-food company Virtu began exploring its own expansion into the Democratic Republic of Congo, confirming the growing interest of Polish companies in the Congolese market.

We hosted a Democratic Republic of Congo delegation — led by H.E. Ambassador Clémentine Shakembo Kamanga and Honorable Marie-Claire Kengo wa Dondo — on a working visit to Poland, coordinating the full programme and logistics across three cities. The visit opened cooperation in several priority sectors: security and surveillance technology, waste management and energy production, agri-food, agricultural machinery, and mining. The delegation met Polish technology and industrial companies in Warsaw, Kraków and Zator, closing the visit with a synthesis session confirming the priority axes of Poland–DRC cooperation.

From December 4 to 7, 2025, Kinshasa hosted the first Polish Business Week, held at Hotel Pullman under the High Patronage of DRC Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka, with the leadership of the National Assembly in attendance. The event brought together institutional representatives, decision-makers and business leaders from both countries. Conferences, panels and business meetings focused on agriculture, infrastructure, energy, technology, mining and industry, including economic panels on e-government and waste management with T4B Group and T-MASTER S.A. Polish companies presented their solutions and investment potential, opening the way for a second edition and a waste-management pilot for Kinshasa.

Our team met with Studia Kuchenne PM, a Polish company specialising in custom kitchen furniture and comprehensive interior design, known for bespoke furniture combining functionality with elegance. Discussions covered potential collaborations furnishing government facilities — offices, conference centres and public buildings — in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

On March 6, 2025, our team visited Mercator Medical, a global leader in medical gloves and disposable healthcare products supplying over 70 countries, to explore collaboration in the DRC's health sector. Discussions focused on potential partnerships to supply hospitals, clinics and the Ministry of Health with high-quality medical equipment.

On March 4, 2025, our team visited Aksam, a leading Polish snack manufacturer known for its Beskidzkie brand, as part of our ongoing efforts to identify export opportunities for the Democratic Republic of Congo. Aksam is recognised for its high-quality salty snacks — pretzels, sticks, popcorn and more — with an export presence in over 32 countries. Discussions focused on bringing premium Polish food brands to African markets.

We are excited to announce our recent visit to Promar PPH Sp. z o.o., a leading European producer of food additives and flavorings. Our discussions focused on exploring opportunities to expand Promar's world-class solutions to the African market, starting with Kinshasa. By leveraging their cutting-edge products, we aim to bring advanced food technology and sustainable practices to local industries, paving the way for future collaboration and development. This visit marks the beginning of a promising partnership, as we work towards enhancing industrial standards and creating new economic opportunities in the region.

The exchange with T-Master culminated in a signed partnership agreement to build a Municipal Waste Management System in Kinshasa's Mont-Amba district — home to roughly 2 million residents — addressing a city that generates over 12,000 tonnes of municipal waste daily. This marks a historic first step for Poland–DRC cooperation in the waste-management sector.

Ahead of the Mont-Amba agreement, a DRC delegation from the Ministry of Environment visited T-Master's Ciechanów facility to study sorting, recycling and processing technology, then toured the municipal waste plant in Białystok as a working model for urban waste systems. The Ambassador of the DRC to Poland and the T-Master delegation also met with the Polish Ministry of Environment in Warsaw to align on environmental cooperation — laying the groundwork for the partnership that followed.
